ANCHOR WORK

Over the course of this school year I have been able to anchor several Nebraska Nightly shows. Nebraska Nightly is broadcasted live at 4:00 PM on Friday's during the semester on YouTube and on local tv station, LNKTV. Alongside anchoring for the show, I was a producer who helped with content planning, creating rundowns, and I was in charge of writing scripts.

MOST RECENT TIME ANCHORING

Here is our show from April 7. This show had a couple challenges added to it as our program has begun rotation positions to let students try out as many as they'd like. While technical difficulties and other things we sometimes can't control happen, I think Lance and I did a great job keeping our cool and rolling with the punches. It was fun to add some banter to the end of the sports block as well.

SPECIAL INTERVIEW

While this wasn't an episode of Nebraska Nightly, it was a special interview that I had the pleasure of hosting with the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska President, Jake Drake. This was the first time our program had done anything like this. It was the week before spring break and while we knew we weren't going to put out a whole show that Friday, we still wanted to produce something to share with our audience. It was great to sit down with Jake and hear about some of the things ASUN does to support students at our university.

FIRST SHOW IN NEW STUDIO

This show was our final show of the fall semester but also the first show filmed in the new Don and Lorena Meier Studio at the College of Journalism. I am very proud of this show because while it wasn't perfect, I think it was our best one of the fall semester. I've gotten more comfortable ad-libbing on camera and I have learned to have good posture and proper hand gestures so I don't distract from the most important part of anchoring, delivering the news.
