ABOUT ME

My broadcasting journey

Going into college, I knew I wanted to get an education from a university that valued broadcasting. I found this at a university only six hours away from home at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. At the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, "doing from day one" is a motto told to students beginning at orientation. The college has given me so many hands-on experiences that have pushed me as a storyteller and has helped shape my professionalism. I am especially grateful for the student produced broadcast news forum, Nebraska Nightly. This program has helped me connect with real world professionals, and has also allowed me to gain reporting and anchoring experience. This experience taught me how to work on a news team, and helped me land my internship with a local station in Lincoln, Nebraska, KLKN-TV, last summer.

For my final semester, I am excited to be a student lead for Nebraska Nightly and help mentor new students in the program and continue to be a mentor for student's who have been a part of the program before. I am eager to see where I can help take the program with my passion and dedication.
